“ Saw the video of Summer Smith Pierce and am so disgusted. Ewww. ”
“ Seeing how disgraceful and ignorant your manger Summer is you should just close. If she is that comfortable being that disgraceful in front of grieving families. God only knows what she does to the their relatives under the care of the funeral home. Absolutely disgusting and scary ”
“ Fuck summer ”
“ Disgusting behavior , aggressive , disrespectful and absolutely no empathy for greiving family. ”
“ Summer Pierce, the general manager of Laurel Oaks Funeral Home, showed a complete lack of humanity when she disrupted and disrespected a grieving family during their loved one’s funeral. Her behavior was not just unprofessional—it was heartless, cruel, and absolutely inhumane. She treated a family’s most vulnerable moment like a joke, without an ounce of empathy or respect. No one with such a lack of basic human decency should be in a position of leadership, let alone working in a place meant to help people during their darkest hours. The fact that Laurel Oaks still employs her speaks volumes about their disregard for human dignity. Summer Pierce shouldn’t be allowed to work anywhere, and this funeral home deserves to lose any trust people had in it. She owes that family a public apology—though I doubt she has the capacity for true remorse. ”
“ Summer Pierce—the general manager of Laurel Oaks Funeral Home—disrupting and disrespecting a family’s funeral. Her behavior was heartless, controlling, and absolutely unacceptable. This wasn’t just a staff mistake. This was leadership. And she’s still employed. No apology, no accountability, just silence. The family deserves a public apology, and Summer Pierce should be removed from her position. If this is who runs the place, no grieving family is safe here. ”
“ I don’t know the family, but I saw the video—and what Summer Pierce did during that funeral was disgusting. She disrespected a grieving family, disrupted their goodbye, and acted like she had power over their pain. And Laurel Oaks? Still employing her. No apology. No accountability. That says everything. Summer Pierce needs to be fired immediately, and the family deserves a public apology. Until then, this place is a disgrace. ”
“ The video of Summer Smith Pierce disrupting a funeral at Laurel Oaks was horrifying. Her behavior was cold, unprofessional, and deeply disrespectful to a grieving family during their final goodbye. Even worse—she’s still employed, and no public apology has been made. Laurel Oaks has shown zero accountability. The family, and the public, deserve a sincere apology. Until that happens, I wouldn’t trust this funeral home with anyone I care about. ”
“ You know why you’re receiving 1 star… much ado about disrespect, racism, lack of empathy and cultural knowledge. A public apology is owed. ”
“ A joke of a place, full of clowns. ”
“ It is literally required for funeral directors to demonstrate cultural competence. Something this funeral home staff does NOT have. Seeing how Summer Pierce treated that poor Hispanic family like criminals over the grief of their father all over tiktok just shows how racism is alive and well. I hope to pour out pee on her grave to return the favor for creating a trauma memory for that family. Racism is one hell of a poison. ”
“ Wish I could leave negative 5 stars. Summer Smith Desirae deserves for her family to be treated egregiously at her own funeral if anyone shows up to that one day. ”
“ Disgrace to the community. ”
“ Even the dead can't rest because your staff Summer Smith Pierce ruined the funeral. Judging people how their supposed to grieved. I sense some racism. ”
“ i can’t believe how entitled your staff named Summer Smith Pierce. that poor family. It was literally their last time that they got to pour one for dad and she completely ruined it. it got to be a mix of her being a karen n racism those come hand by hand. RACIST!!! ”
“ Unfortunately, this review is not a positive one. When choosing a funeral home to celebrate the life of your loved one and honor their passing it’s important to choose one with compassionate and understanding staff. We had an extremely difficult time due to a woman named Summer at this home. We will never return here again for any of our loved ones and deeply regret choosing this home in the first place. Summer did not honor how our family chose to mourn and was unprofessional and extremely aggressive. I urge anyone who is choosing a place to rest their loved ones to look elsewhere if they continue to place incompetent staff making grieving families suffer even more. ”
“ Completely disrespectful “General Manager”. She should be ashamed of herself. Apart of your training to become a funeral director are cultural acceptance classes. Racism is alive and well, especially at this funeral home. Do not choose this place if you’re planning to put a loved one to rest. They just look at you as a dollar sign. No empathy whatsoever. ”
“ So disrespectful. Do not go here. They do not treat You with respect. They disrespect your loved ones. Especially summer pierce ”
“ Recent experience shown by a Hispanic family grieving their passed family member, Summer Pierce a fellow staff in this location disrupted and disrespected the way the family chose to send away their loved one, causing a scene and overall belittling the grief of this family. Be careful who you choose to represent your funeral home. Because so far you’re making the process of families experiencing a loss, worse. ”
“ To disrespect the family grieving in a way that is culturally appropriate and relevant is beyond disrespectful - the general manager no less!! Do not work with Summer Pierce unless you and your family are okay with being disrespected when you grieve in the way you know how. ”
“ Here is a video of Summer Pierce being disrespectful to a grieving family. Don't use this place for your passed loved ones. Watch the video https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP82tssn6/ ”
“ Unprofessional. Lead you to believe your loved one has been cremated for almost 3 weeks without calling saying there is a delay. Loved ones left memorials online however due to their computer problem “not in their control” they were all deleted and told my widowed sister no one left a memorial They can’t help their computer system wasn’t saving them. Gone forever and can’t retreive them. Then after nearly a month when they finally got the death certificate, they put all the official notarized documents to the life insurance company in the regular mail. Not certified or overnighted. And they don’t care about you. That’s their procedure. Is what I was told. They didn’t treat my sister with any respect. They never apologized or showed her any empathy. Too bad for her was their attitude. ”
