McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel is located just miles from the North Carolina/South Carolina state line, approximately 10 miles south of Charlotte. Those traveling in from outside of the city will appreciate the close proximity to Interstates 77 and 485.
This chain of funeral homes began as a side project for a cabinetry business and eventually grew into its own separate business in 1926. Now, McEwen Funeral Service has expanded to include numerous locations throughout the Charlotte region. The Pineville Chapel is housed in a white-columned brick traditional building, which is complete with a sun-filled chapel and several seating areas.
The funeral and cremation business was founded by R.J. McEwen. After the opening of the original facility, R.J.’s son and daughter joined the team. Until the funeral home was absorbed into the Dignity Memorial network, the business remained into the McEwen family.
