The current location of Tatting-Methven Funeral home was built around 1906 as a Methodist Church. It later became the Hills Funeral Chapel and then was purchased by Don Tatting. Don was ready to retire in 1976 and coincidentally his nephew - Peter Methven - was just graduating with a degree in mortuary science. Don placed a call to Peter, who was living in Saint Paul at the time, and offered to sell him the business. Peter accepted and moved to Hinckley with his family. Don continued to help Peter with the funeral home for many years before his death in 1999.
The building was extensively remodeled in 2001 to offer a much more spacious, comfortable atmosphere.
