Calvin B. Scruggs Funeral Home is situated on East Preston Street in the north-east of the city. Close to Freeway 83 and within a 25-mile radius of several historic cemeteries, the funeral home has served Baltimore's metropolitan communities and surrounding counties for over 50 years.
The spacious red-brown brick building contains a welcoming, modern chapel that seats up to 200 guests. A bright and friendly visitation area offers comfort and privacy before funeral service begins. Several funeral service options, all personalized, are available, including direct cremation, veterans services, burial with graveside or church memorial services and cremation with ceremony.
Family-owned and operated by 2nd generation funeral directors Calvin B. Scruggs Jr. and Bernadette V. Scruggs, the facility also contains a casket selection room where families can choose urns or caskets according to their needs and preference.
The funeral home also arranges for pallbearers, hearse or limousine transfer, clergy if church memorial services are selected, and schedule the opening and closing of the grave with some cemeteries. Pre-planning is also available.
