Haugabrooks Funeral Home has been in business since 1929, when Geneva Moton Haugabrooks opened its doors in the 200 block of Auburn Avenue. The business moved several times over the course of almost 8 years before settling into its permanent location, a white brick building at 364 Auburn Avenue, in 1937.
Mrs. Haugabrooks worked in the funeral industry for 8 years before going out on her own. She passed the business along to her nephews after her death in 1977, and one of her nephews - alongside her other nephew's grandson - still runs the funeral home under its new corporate structure.
In addition to standard burial and cremation offerings, Haugabrooks takes pride in offering personalized funeral services to each family.
