The funeral home on 9th Street is one of six locations owned and operated by Marshall March Funeral Homes. Situated between Silver Springs and north-west Washington, this facility and the other branches have served communities living in Washington D.C., Maryland, Baltimore, Richmond, Suitland and Virginia for more than 50 years. King Memorial Park is one of these six locations, although all cemeteries within a 25-mile radius are served, including the Islamic Society Burial Grounds.

The spacious light-brown facility greets visitors with friendly red canopies. The chapel can accommodate gatherings of any size. Funeral service includes traditional and contemporary ceremonies for burial and cremation, as well as direct cremation.

Founded by husband and wife Harold and Julia Marshall in 1968, the business has remained true to their motto: to provide personalized and sympathetic service to all families regardless of religion, race, culture, color or creed, and to demonstrate that service is friendship in action. The first facility moved from the original location at 522 8thStreet NE in Washington D.C. to its present location in 1972.

Today, the six funeral homes are owned and managed by the March family, friends and former colleagues of the founders.

After many years of using Marshals Funeral home and also knowing the owners,it saddens me to say that I took out a pre-need policy and paid for it. I recently discovered that it was owned by another entity and after numerous attempts I was unable to get any information from them. My family has used this funeral home numerous times and I feel as if there is something suspicious going on. I intend to have Better Business look into this situation. I certainly know that if the senior Marshals were in charge it would be different. So sad
