Reid's Golden Gate Funeral Home on 2525 N. Teutonia Avenue is conveniently close to I-43 and downtown Milwaukee, and also within a 30-mile drive of three cemeteries. This is the funeral home's second location and the facility serves the communities of metropolitan Milwaukee.
The light-brown building greets guests with a dark-brown canopy over the entrance. An intimate, handicapped accessible chapel offers seating for up to 100 guests. Personalized funeral service includes direct cremation and immediate burial, traditional burial with chapel, graveside or church services and cremation with memorial services, grief counseling, merchandise and pre-planning.
Founder Arthur Reid Jr. began his career in 1956, working at another family-owned and operated funeral home: historic Williamson's Funeral Home in Milwaukee. After working for several other facilities for a number of years, Arthur co-founded Reid And Yandell Funeral Home in 1981. This eventually became the first Golden Gate Funeral Home in 1986, before being renamed the New Golden Gate Funeral Home in 1993.
By 2008, Arthur had become the sole owner and operator of the facility and by 2012 he had opened up a new location at 1910 Taylor Avenue in Racine, where a spacious chapel can seat approximately 140 guests.
