The New Pitts Mortuary LLC is situated on W. Capitol Drive in north-west Milwaukee, close to Whitefish Bay. The funeral home is within a 30-mile drive of two cemeteries and has served the African-American communities of Milwaukee for many years.
From their imposing pale gray stone building, the funeral home offers a wide range of personalized funeral service packages, including direct cremation, traditional burial with graveside, chapel, or church services and cremation with memorial services. Signature services such as live webcasting, arranging for memorial website set-up, terminal illness and grief counseling, after-care, a chaplaincy service and pre-planning are all designed to support families during their difficult time. The spacious chapel and viewing area can be arranged to accommodate any size of funeral gathering.
When president and owner Michelle Pitts took over the funeral home in 1996, she renamed it The New Pitt Mortuary to mark a turning point for the facilities new, even higher standard of service to the community.
The funeral home serves all cemeteries and can also arrange permanent memorialization and custom-made tribute videos that guests and family can take away as keepsakes after the funeral service.

I am deeply dissatisfied with the service provided by this funeral home. Not only did they perform a subpar job on my mother's preparation, but they also failed to accommodate me when I requested to view her before the service, citing an early closure. Recently, I had a conversation with Andy, who promised to provide necessary paperwork upon presentation of proper identification. However, when I arrived at the funeral home, the door was locked, and despite being let in by a short black woman, I was ultimately denied the paperwork, with my attempts to show identification ignored. I left feeling upset and confused. I strongly advise against doing business with this funeral home and instead recommend Krause Grace Memorial or Paradise Memorial for their professional staff and excellent service.
