Independent Funeral Service is located on South State Street, between Salt Lake and Millcreek in the south-east of Salt Lake City. The funeral home looks after the needs of families in Salt Lake County and is within a 30-mile radius of several cemeteries.
The privately owned and operated facility does not have its own chapel or large viewing rooms, but the team of funeral directors can arrange a completely personalized funeral service that will suit individual families' budgets, traditions and faiths, and funeral gatherings can be held in a church or chapel of choice, at home or at other establishments.
From their small white building the team of funeral directors has looked after the funeral arrangements of local families for more than 17 years, offering traditional burial with graveside or church service, veterans services with headstones and burial flags, cremation with ceremony and direct cremation and burial without any formal ceremonies during that time.
The funeral home operates another facility in Bountiful. Merchandise includes custom memorial headstones, caskets, custom-made wooden urns and beautiful grave markers and monuments. Pre-planning and transportation of human remains are also part of the service.
