Everything CSFH touched, including my granny herself, went wrong. It is also important to note that she was a longtime friend of Charles Smith, attending church together for 20+yrs. She was friends with one of the FH employees, who requested to service her funeral. My granny trusted this FH & trusted her friends within it. Andy Ortiz was our funeral director The cemetery was approx 30mins from FH, so we paid for an escort for precession. Viewing: Granny had been in the hospital for months prior to passing & while she looked sick in the hospital, she still looked like HER. The makeup Andy used was so dark it made her look like a different nationality. She looked nothing like she did when she passed away days before. Her dentures that we requested be put in looked as if they were forcefully shoved in & her mouth looked stretched. Rather than spending this time grieving w/ family, my mom stood at the door to warn everyone entering of what to expect Service: Andy talked outside throughout the service. Immediately after, he came up to tell us that the escort was a no-show. Turns out, they never rcvd Andy's fax. Andy never faxed the request. The precession was a free-for-all We get to cemetery & the vault had the wrong middle name. Not even close to her real name. Andy pointed the finger at the cemetery but the cemetery was able to prove that Andy gave them the wrong name. He cowered behind a tree while calling his supervisor. Our options were have them fix the name there, or order a new vault, which wouldn't be in until the following Mon & she would have to go back under the “care” of CSFH. We made it very clear that she was NOT going back w/ them. The name got somewhat corrected I had a chance to ask Andy why she looked so different. He said that due to the "laceration" he had to apply heavy makeup. Turns out sometime during transit, she received an "L-shaped half-dollar size laceration to her forehead". We still have not received an answer as to how it happened. They took away a peaceful goodbye for my family
