Once a MEDCURE donor is accepted at the time of passing, all donation-related expenses will be covered. These expenses include transportation arrangements, one certified copy of the death certificate, cremation, and either the return of the cremated remains to the family or a scattering at sea.

MEDCURE is a leading AATB accredited non-transplant tissue bank, devoted to the compassionate and ethical treatment of each of our donors. We connect people wanting to donate their bodies to science with medical communities that depend on them to improve the health and lives of others. Together, these donors and medical professionals make lasting impacts on the future of medicine.

In addition to having the opportunity to help others through the advancement of medical science, whole body donation through MEDCURE is a no cost end-of-life option. Upon acceptance of a donation, MEDCURE will cover all fees associated with the donation process. This includes transportation arrangements, one certified copy of the death certificate, cremation, and either the return of the cremated remains to the family or a scattering at sea.

I want to do what I can to help prevent others from having the same additional heartbreak and devastation because of MedCure’s lack of compassion and unethical services. It is too late now for my father to have had this final wish, but it isn't for others who are looking into whole body donation. . I watched my family deal with the anger and pain after finding out that my father’s body was left for days at the funeral home contracted by MedCure. The funeral home had called MedCure the morning after his death, as well as the next two days to get the necessary information for the death certificate from them in order to have MedCure arrange transport of my father's body, in accordance to state and local laws. They were told someone would return their call. My brother also called MedCure twice that week, to check on our father's body. Messages were taken, but no calls were returned. My mother finally received a call four days later, from a woman from MedCure that berated her because they didn’t have all of the information they requested, which had been filled out and given to them twice before my father’s death. The anguish in knowing that this can never be rectified, that my father was not able to give the final gift he so wanted to give, along with grieving the loss of this wonderful man, has been overwhelming. There are other heartbreaking stories about MedCure; that they mixed up bodies, called grieving families using wrong names, and more stories about families that have received the cremated remains back several weeks after they were told to expect them, not even knowing if they were actually the ashes of their loved one. If you look on Glassdoor, you will see many that use words like "terrible", "nightmare", and "stay away". This is a company that deals with a human body, not a product or service. A human being that lived a life just as you are living yours, who was loved and cherished. Do your research, do not use MedCure.

They took care of everything as promised. We couldn't afford to spend $1,200 on a cremation for my father but thankfully he qualified for this program. They picked up the body within a day and I didn't travel anywhere to deal with it. It was all done over the phone and really simple.
