Cook-Walden Funeral Homes are a landmark near North I-35, serving the North Lamar and Allendale communities of Austin. The funeral home is near two adjacent cemeteries.

The red-brick funeral home stands within peaceful, leafy grounds and its meeting rooms are suitable for large or small memorials. Cook-Walden Funeral Homes have provided cremation and burial services from multiple locations for more than 50 years, which now includes the 17,000 sq ft. funeral home facility at Capital Parks Cemetery plus two other cemeteries in the metro area.

The company was founded by Samuel E. Rosengren in the late 1800s. Charles B. Cook purchased Rosengren's business in the 1920s, opening an opulent three-story building between the capitol and the governor's mansion. Charles Walden bought Cook Funeral Home in 1971, adding his 30 years of dedicated funeral service to the business and moving the funeral home to its current North Lamar Street site and joining it to the Dignity Memorial Network of North America.

The funeral home has multilingual staff who can help bereaved families of all faiths and cultures to hold memorial services, burial and direct cremation, including veterans' burial services and catered funeral receptions, that they wish for.
