M.J. Edwards Funeral Home - Airways Chapel on Airways Blvd is located in the Coopers-Young area in south-east Memphis, within a short drive of Memphis International Airport, Liberty Bowl and Memphis Fairgrounds. The funeral home is within a 30-mile radius of three cemeteries and serves communities in south-east Memphis.
The large red-brick facility welcomes funeral guests with an elegant dark blue awning that runs the whole length of the building, shading the entrance. Inside, a spacious chapel and elegant, comfortable gathering areas can be arranged to accommodate both large and small groups. The chapel seats 150 guests.
This is one of three locations owned and operated in Memphis by African-American funeral directors M.J. Edwards. The other two locations are 5494 Elvis Presley Blvd and 4445 Stage Road.
Direct cremation, traditional burial with graveside ceremonies and cremations with memorial services, pre-planning, grief support, collaboration with other funeral homes and celebrant services are part of the overall funeral service offered. M.J. Edwards' caring professionals are also involved in community projects such as raising breast cancer awareness.
