My family has had a very unfortunate experience with Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park (Elvis Presley Location). In September of 2020 my beloved grandmother who raised me passed away. She had pre-paid for her funeral in advance several years before her death. When navigating the tumultuous time immediately following her death, Donny Bobo who worked at the facility was a huge help. Another woman named Joyce Hudson had “helped” us as well. When my grandmother was buried, we noticed a long rust streak on her grave, which seemed to have been left by a little flag on a metal pole sometimes used for marking land. We had mentioned we were unhappy with that and we were assured it would be promptly cleaned. We were also told that the engraving of my grandmother’s headstone was going to swiftly follow her burial. Nearly one year later, the headstone has not been engraved, no sod has been placed over where her coffin was buried, and the rust mark remains. My aunt and I have called and left about a dozen messages with no call back. This is absurd and completely disrespectful to families suffering the loss of loved ones. When navigating my grandmother’s death, Joyce Hudson was cold to our emotional state. We could sense she was attempting to squeeze every last penny out of us she could. Luckily we had records of my grandmother’s pre-paid items for her death, but clearly that still did nothing with getting her headstone engraved and cleaned, nor getting sod placed over her gravesite. I will also add that we had shenanigans prior to my grandmother’s death. She prepaid for two plots and misplaced the paperwork. When contacting the funeral home they claimed they had “no record” of the plots she purchased. She ended up having to purchase 2 more plots. Later she found the paperwork for the original plots a a refund for additional plots purchased.
