My son passed away from a gunshot to the head in Hospice and Tualatin Valley Funeral Alternatives cremated his body with in 4 hours of his passing without attempting to notify me, his mother which violates Funeral Home Ethics in a major way. When someone dies who is obviously a child, it is the duty of the funeral home to locate or get enough information to confirm whether or not a parent is alive. This was not attempted, instead the funeral home director had my ex sign a waiver of rely and essentially participated in the theft of my son's body. The impact of this director ignoring his ethical duty and cremating my son , who DID NOT WANT TO BE CREMATED, has been irreversible. I was diagnosed with PTSD and frequently have images of my son in awful conditions racing thru my head. My daughter, who was my son's best friend and who had spoke with her brother about death and what they both wanted and had purchased him a Gucci suit to wear, has become extremely withdrawn and has no trust for any kind of authority. She lives in fear of her father and step-mother and the control they were able to weil against her. This establishment only cares about quota and performing as many creations as possible. There is not yet a law in Oregon regulating the amount of cremations a facility can perform which has attracted director's like this one who are unethical and have complete disregard for the standards that have been put in place by industry regulators.
