“ Run as fast as you can from Sunset Cemetery and Dostal Bokas Funeral Services! They take advantage of your grief and emotional state. You are led into a beautiful room and the talk turns to embalming and caskets and through your tears you say ‘whatever’ and sign… We paid OVER $20,000 for mom’s funeral. We had pre-purchased the plots, or it would have been over $30,000. There are 5 levels of burial packages (see their website). We chose the lowest or ‘basic’ funeral package. $20,000 was the LOWEST price! These crooks charged so much money for the services we received, a tiny little space with no room for family and friends, flowers that looked nothing like the picture in the book, incorrect memorial cards… the list goes on! I complained about the cost of the headstone ($6000+) I found it online for $2500. They agreed to refund $2500 which I had to call to remind them after two weeks without seeing our refund. Wait until you drive through the grounds. Try to avoid the potholes! So many dead trees! There are weeds, not flowers growing in the decorative vases. The Garden of Religion is so dilapidated, it is truly sad. I googled “average price of a funeral” and site after site listed $7000 to $9000. That doesn’t include the cemetery plots (which we had). We paid $20,000. Almost triple the average. How can these people stay in business? Because they prey on your emotional state. Please don’t let this happen to you! Do NOT do business with Sunset Cemetery or Dostal Bokas Funeral Services. They use your grief as a way to make their fortune. ”
