Situated approximately 1 1/2 miles north of Charlotte, NC, Alexander Funeral Home serves the community from the Greenville neighborhood. Families traveling in from out of town will appreciate the close proximity to Interstates 77 and 277 and the fact that Charlotte Douglas International Airport is within 10 miles of the location.
Alexander Funeral Home was established over a century ago in 1914 as Coles & Smith Undertakers. After several location changes throughout Charlotte, the funeral and cremation business settled into its current location, a dark brick building, which is complete with off-street parking, a comfortable sitting area and a chapel that can accommodate families of all sizes.
Zachariah “Plain Z” Alexander founded Alexander Funeral Home as the first African American-owned funeral facility in the city. Throughout the years, the Alexander family has remained in ownership of the facility, a legacy that continues to this day.
For the convenience of customers, funeral services and cremations can be planned online or in person. Package options make it easy to choose the right services. Base offerings include direct cremation and immediate burial, and from there, families have the option to make memorials and ceremonies as elaborate as they would like.
