Stinson Funeral Home Inc.'s Northwest Chapel is located on Meyers Road, close to the junction where Fwy's 94 and 96 meet. The funeral home serves the needs of north-west Detroit's families and is within 30 miles of six cemeteries.
A series of attractive, red-brick building occupy a large, beautifully landscaped plot. The chapel can seat approximately 180 guests, and several comfortable, elegant reception and viewing rooms make for a peaceful retreat before services begin.
Founded originally by Sulee and Joseph Stinson on the first floor of their home in 1935, the funeral home added two more branches to their business in later years, including the present funeral home on Meyers Road in 1978. In 1996, the Stinson Funeral Homes were purchased by Concord Family Services, Inc., a funeral service management company aiming to serve primarily ethnic and culturally diverse communities.
Run by Rev. Dr. Curtis C. Williams, the CEO, the Northwest Chapel provides veteran funeral care alongside traditional burial, cremation and direct cremation without ceremony.
