Neurath & Schoppenhorst Funeral Home is situated near Downtown Louisville, KY in the Portland neighborhood. The business is set near several major highways, making it easily accessible from the surrounding regions, and is within 5 miles of St. Louis, Cave Hill and St. Michael's Cemeteries.
This funeral and cremation home dates all the way back to 1892. Neurath & Schoppenhorst is housed in a light-colored brick and stucco building, a building that houses the first carport built in Louisville. Inside, spacious, home-like interiors give families plenty of space to spread out during funeral services.
Edward and Flora Schoppenhorst were the founders of Neurath & Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, and later, their nephew, Charles, joined the business. After being owned and operated by the family for many years, the business was handed over to Charles and their trusted associates. The funeral home was sold two more times until the current owner, Casey Lloyd, took over operations.
Keeping with the tradition set forth by the Schoppenhorsts, this funeral and cremation business offers a variety of packages to suit every budget. Direct cremation and immediate burials are possible, as are full burial and memorial services, complete with family transport to the cemetery.
