Slider Funeral Home at 1734 Washington Boulevard serves north west Kansas City's African-American communities and is within a 30-mile radius of two cemeteries.
The large white, stand-alone building is surrounded by well-kept lawns and there is ample parking for visitors. Spacious, comfortably furnished family lounges create a home-like atmosphere where families can find privacy before funeral services begin and guests arrive for the visitation period. A limousine or horse-drawn carriage hearse can transport remains to the chosen cemetery.
Owned and operated by the Slider family, the funeral home was founded more than five years ago by Mr. Keith Slider, the President, and his wife Aundrea. They took on an abandoned former funeral home, restored and renovated it and began serving their local community with compassion, attention to detail and professionalism.
The family-run firm offers highly original alongside deeply traditional funeral service packages that can include direct cremation, burial with Royal Matriarch Tribute™ that includes Trinity white dove release and two motorcycle escorts. Cremation with a simple memorial service designed by the family according to their needs, customs and traditions can also be arranged.
