My mother was taken here in 2010. We paid around $10,000 for their services, and we didn't use their facility for a viewing or for a ceremony (we used our church for both). At the time, I asked why it cost so much despite the fact that we weren't using their facilities, and the response I got was "Oh it doesn't matter. It's still going to cost you $10,000." I suppose they assumed that because my mother had life insurance which paid for it, we weren't supposed to care how much it cost.
