Pope Funeral Home - Washington Chapel on Pennsylvania Avenue is located in the heart of South East Washington DC, and has served families of all cultures, faiths and nationalities living in the wider metropolitan area of Washington for almost 100 years. The funeral home is within a 25-30 mile radius of several cemeteries. The Pope family's own Pope Memorial Gardens are situated within George Washington Cemetery, Adelphi, MD.

The light-brown rectangular facility greets visitors with a friendly red canopy, before they enter an elegant foyer that leads to a comfortable family seating/visitation area; a lovely chapel accommodates funeral gathering of up to 150 guests.

Founded by the late Alexander S. Pope in 1920, the original funeral home was located at 315 15th Street S.E. Washington D.C., before moving to its current location. Today, the chain of Pope Funeral Homes are operated by a management team: Vice President and Funeral Operations Larry Simmons, General Manager Keith Savage and Maria Segovia, Vice President and Financial Operations.

Another facility at 5538 Marlboro Pike, Forestville, serves families in Maryland. It contains two chapels seating more than 300 guests and several family lounge rooms, a casket display area and community meeting rooms.
