The York Street branch of Feldman Mortuary Inc is located in the heart of Denver, near the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and Denver Zoo. Serving the city's Jewish community, the mortuary is within a 20-30 mile radius of several cemeteries.
The attractive white chapel, beautifully decorated and dignified inside, can seat up to 200 people comfortably; a family room provides a peaceful, private setting before services begin. In keeping with Jewish heritage, the funeral home features Tahara and Shomer facilities, both sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Rabbinical Council and Rocky Mountain Chevra Kaddisha.
Established in 1936 by Aaron Cohen, Feldman Mortuary has been family-owned and operated ever since, now being run by the 3rd and 4th generation. Funeral director Jim Cohen provides a highly professional and compassionate funeral service that includes embalming and direct burial, but also direct cremation, cremation and burial with traditional ceremony.
Feldman Mortuary also has a branch on 17th Street. Jim Cohen is supported by Stephen J. Cohen, who took over from founder Aaron Cohen in 1980, and CFD/General Manager Larry D Mowery, and funeral director Kenning Jiron. Jamie Sarche is the Director of Outreach and Prearranged Funeral Planning.
