Brown Colonial Mortuary is located in downtown Santa Ana, just off Main Street and near Freeway 5. Bank of America Financial Center is the nearest local landmark. The funeral home serves mainly Santa Ana's Hispanic community and is within a 30-mile radius of three cemeteries.
The beautiful historic building welcomes funeral guests with a white facade and black shutters. The bright and spacious chapel seats up to 200 guests, and there are several comfortable viewing rooms for small family gatherings. No direct burial is offered, but traditional burial, cremation with ceremony and direct cremation without memorial services are available.
The business was founded by Harold R. Brown, who was eventually succeeded by son H. Roy Brown, who served the community for 55 years, before passing the business to his son, 3rd generation funeral director Gerran W. Brown. Fluent in Spanish, Gerran is able to offer bilingual funeral service to Santa Ana's Spanish community. He is supported by manager and funeral director Paul Carrillo and funeral directors Rafael Gonzalez and Karla Serrano.
Service also includes veterans burials, and a supply of funeral merchandise such as rental caskets, urns and alternative containers for different cremation options.
