Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home is located on Freeport Blvd. just south of Midtown and convenient for Freeway 5 and several cemeteries. The funeral home lies directly across from William Land Park and serves the South Sacramento community.
The attractive gray-brown building contains a large foyer ideal for small receptions. William Land Park Chapel accommodates medium-sized funeral gatherings, while the park offers a peaceful retreat before funeral service begins.
Established in 1903, the original business was a partnership between Harry A. Nauman, William Bath and Bath's son Nicholas. When the partnership dissolved, Mr. Nauman opened his own funeral home at 1811 G Street. In 1928, Mr. Nauman formed a corporation with his son Harry, wife Clara and his son's wife Elsa and C. M. House. After World War II, the current building on Freeport Avenue was built.
When the last Nauman family member died in the 1990s, the business passed into new hands and is today operated by funeral director Craig Forrey, location manager Kelly Zimmer, principal and managing director Amber Walter and Catherine Wheat, managing director. The funeral home offers direct cremation as well as traditional burial and cremation to all faiths and ethnicity.
