Green Hills Mortuary & Memorial Park and Chapel are located at 27501 South Western Avenue in Rancho Palos Verdes, a short drive from neighboring Wilmington Cemetery, which lies to the east of Green Hills Memorial Park. The cemetery, mortuary and chapel serve families of all faiths and cultures living in the South Bay Area.
The lovely white chapel, mortuary and serene 120-acre grounds of the cemetery are located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The memorial park includes rolling hills, waterfalls and fountains, areas of outstanding natural beauty shaded by mature trees and peaceful walks.
Founded by Robert T. McNerney with a small group of local businessmen in 1948, the memorial park received a new Mediterranean style building incorporating the current mortuary and cemetery administration offices and spacious stand-alone chapel in 1962.
Families have the option to fully personalize their funeral service, which can include display boards for photographs, DVD tributes, memory blankets, live soloists or musicians playing at visitations or chapel celebrations of life. Even release of white doves or butterflies can be arranged as part of the full cremation or burial services. Direct cremation and burial can also be arranged.
