Fukui Mortuary Inc. in E. Temple Street is just a short drive from downtown Los Angeles, and convenient for access to Interstate-10. Walt Disney Concert Hall is a local landmark. The funeral home serves predominantly the Japanese community of Little Tokyo, which is just a few blocks away. The facility is within a 30-mile radius of several cemeteries, temples and churches.
The attractive red-brick and white concrete chapel can accommodate ca. 125 guests. Several family and visitation rooms offer a well-appointed and comfortable retreat prior to funeral services.
All faiths and cultural backgrounds are welcome. Both direct cremation and burial are provided, as well as contemporary and traditional burial and cremation with memorial services. The funeral service has been in the same family's hands – and location – for more than 100 years.
The Fukui Mortuary business was started with Soji Fuki, who assumed ownership of an existing business in 1918. He had already worked as funeral director at the facility. Today the business is operated and managed by fifth generation funeral director Gerald Fukui, who is supported by a large team of caring professionals.
