Lisle Funeral Home at 1605 L. Street in the south-west of the city serves the diverse communities of metropolitan Fresno. The funeral home is within a 30-mile radius of several cemeteries and serves all faiths and cultures.
The beautiful white, Georgian-revival style mansion has been a local landmark since 1905, when it was built for a local businessman, Mr. Swift, as his family home. In 1932, the building became a funeral home for founder and funeral director John N. Lisle. He added the lovely Calaveras Chapel on the southern end of the mansion in 1939. The mansion contains many original features, such as stained-glass windows, and antiques furnish the elegant foyer, intimate family lounges and spacious chapel that can accommodate any size of funeral gathering.
