Cremation Society of Central California is situated on Tulare Street in the heart of south Fresno. The state-of-the-art modern crematory is within a 30-mile radius of two cemeteries and sits directly across from a shopping center.
The gleaming white building is not like a traditional funeral home or mortuary, but contains an ultra-modern crematory. However, a comfortable, home-like visitation area with large viewing window, where families can watch cremation proceedings in privacy, is part of the facility.
The Society offers affordable funeral service packages that include direct cremation and cremation with a brief public viewing period. Families can also choose cremation with funeral service in a church of their choice or in the facility's own small chapel. Traditional burial in a casket is not available. Embalming, dressing and transport of remains are also included in some of the funeral service packages.
Funeral merchandise includes cremation caskets and urns, but does not include infant or children's cremation caskets. The Society's aim is to make funeral service as affordable as possible for Fresno-based families from all walks of life.
