Martinez Funeral Chapels on 2580 South 6th Avenue serves Hispanic communities in south-west Tucson and the wider Southern Arizona area. Situated just off I-10, the funeral home is within a 30-mile radius of several cemeteries.
The spacious white building contains well-appointed family lounges, an informal coffee lounge and a chapel that can seat up to 150 guests. Catered funeral service receptions can be held in the elegant reception hall, which accommodates up to 100 people.
Established by funeral director Tomas C. Martinez in 1999, this chapel and a further chapel in Nogales are today owned and operated by the next generation of funeral directors, Mr. Martinez' daughter Tamye Espinosa and his sons T.J. and Joe Ronn. Tomas Martinez himself was a second generation funeral director, his father Donato Guajardo Sr. having at one time owned five mortuaries in Texas.
Direct cremation and immediate burial as well as traditional burial with chapel, church or graveside services and cremation with memorial services are available. Funeral service can be customized to include a Memorial Life Tribute DVD for example, or families can use the large video screen in the chapel to share memories of their loved one with those gathered.
